What we did

A site survey on the possibility to
re-initiate Rajant Kinetic Mesh.

The Mutanda Mine is an open-pit copper and cobalt mine in the Lualaba Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). It is the largest cobalt mine in the world.

Glencore Chief Executive Ivan Glasenberg decided in August 2019 to suspend Mutanda. Falling cobalt prices, increased costs, and higher taxes had dented the mine’s economic viability. After a lengthy Maintenance and care program Mutanda will be re-opened during 2024.

In preparation for the re-opening of the mine, Redline was tasked to do a Site survey and feasible study to re-initiate the Rajant Kinetic Mesh deployed at Mutanda.
