What we did
Ensure the communication between the sites over the Wireless Mesh Network and the complete independence from any ISP or service provider.
Redline Infrastructure established a Wireless Mesh Network in the Northern Cape that provides Internet connectivity to 55 sites from a central location based in Kimberley. The 55 sites are grouped into 3 groups consisting of 29, 18 and 8 schools respectively. For each group a Cambium Wireless Mesh Network between the sites provides for connectivity and these groups are connected using Cambium microwave backbone links from a centrally located tower, strategically identified by Redline. Internet connectivity is relayed via this Tower to the three groups.
The 29 sites in the first group also have VOIP phones installed, which are used for communication between the sites over the Wireless Mesh Network and are completely independent from any ISP or service provider such as Telkom.
